Mug Press Imaging Instructions

Mug Press Instructions

  1. Set mug press temperature to 390F and the time to 240s (4mins). Adjust the pressure to light-medium. Too much press can break the jar.
  2. Trim your image to approx 3" x 8.75". Remove straw and lid from the jar. Secure the image with heat-resistant tape.
  3. Cover the jar with a piece of paper that is the same size or slightly larger than the printed image. Secure the paper as well with heat tape.
  4. Place the jar in the mug press. Close press and wait until the sublimation cycle is done.
  5. After the allotted time, carefully remove the jar from the mug press. Set the jar on a counter. DO NOT dunk the jar in water as it will shatter the glass. Let it cool down completely before removing the transfer paper.
Convection Oven Instructions

Oven Instructions

  1. Set oven press temperature to 400F and the time to 12-15 minutes.
  2. Trim your image to approx 3" x 8.75". Remove straw and lid from the jar. Secure the image with heat-resistant tape. The transfer should not extend past the edges of the jar.
  3. Use a heat gun on a low setting to shrink the wrap to the contour of the jar, it is best to start on the side away from the transfer first.
  4. Place the tumbler inside the shrink wrap centering it as best you can. You may need to cut a hole for the handle.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each item you wish to sublimate in the production run.
  6. When the items are ready place them into a preheated convection oven.
  7. Once the item is finished sublimating, remove the shrink wrap and sublimation paper. It may break into smaller pieces that just have to be pulled off the item.
  8. Leave on the table to cool down.  DO NOT dunk the jar in water as it will shatter the glass.
